Hunting Broken Down
Once you pick a quest from the Guild or Village, post it as a reply on the quest and a Moderator will pick it up for you. Hunting is your challenge, but the Moderator will control the monster. No mission is impossible, hits will land, but watch out for attacks.
When battling, remember, there is no God-Modding. If you are close to the tail and don't jump back in time, you'll get hit. But at the same time, the hunters have the most control in the battle. The Moderators are just there to make sure that no one is power-playing against the poor monster.
Control on the monster is limited to the Moderators, once again, giving hunters the most control. Here's a quick example how hunts will go down:
Hunter: Runs through the areas, the small cat following. The air was clean and cool, but not cold. The hunter could see why it was called the Beautiful Forest. As he stopped for a rest, his cat meowing at him with a cute smile, he heard a loud roar come from a narrow path through some rocks. Quickly, he dashed for the sound, entering the large opening, finding the monster he was looking for: the Yian Kut-Ku. His first big monster hunt, he felt excitement at the sight of the pink creature.
Moderator: The Yian Kut-Ku gave out a roar to show his arrival, looking quickly to a small sound, giving another roar at the sight of a human. He spread out his pink wings and charged, his claws digging into the dirt as the frills on his head were out. He was so close to a hit, so close...
Hunter: Dodged! Just in time, barely escaped that one. He drew his weapon and slashed at the fallen monster who was getting up, cutting into the thin scales and drawing blood.
Moderator: The monster let out a pained scream, turning on the hunter and spinning, swishing his tail around.
Hunter: No! He was slung back, the thin pick tail had more power than he thought....
Like that, except anyone can rp in 1st person. The Moderator is there to point out attacks, the Hunter is in charge of getting hit and dodging. Of course, if a Hunter dodges more than 5 times in a row they will get hit by the monster 3 times. No hunter is perfect, but we trust you to be fair to the monster, no matter how funny looking it is, or how weak.
Over time, it will be possible to hunt small boss monsters without taking much damage. Depending on how many times you have hunted that certain type of monster.
